Wayne Rooney’s stunning over-head goal in the 78th minute gave Manchester United a 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the Manchester Derby at Old Trafford on Saturday. Nani opened scoring just before half-time but David Silva equalized not long after the hour. Rooney’s match-winner was an incredible feat and showed just how potent United can be if their most famous player performs as well as he did last year. The three points were vital to United as it moves them eight points clear of City with a game in hand. United remain four points above Arsenal while City are now just two points clear of Spurs with the latter holding a game in hand.
