Down 2-0 after 70 minutes, Manchester United put on a stunning display scoring three goals in sixteen minutes to stun Blackpool 3-2 at Bloomfield Road. Dimitar Berbatov (pictured) scored twice for United, sandwiching a Javier Hernández goal in the about-face. That all came after Craig Cathcart and DJ Campbell scored from headers in the first half for the surprising lead for the Tangerines. With all three points United remain unbeaten in 2010/11 and are the first club to cross the 50-point barrier. The gap is now five points at the top with Arsenal in second place. Blackpool are in twelfth.
Meanwhile, at the DW Stadium, Aston Villa won again, this time over Wigan Athletic 2-1. Gabby Agbonlahor and Ashley Young gave the visitors an insurmountable lead just after the hour and though James McCarthy pulled one back for the Latics, it wasn’t enough to share points. Villa are up to thirteenth with the victory while Wigan remain in the drop zone.
