Arsenal won easily away to Birmingham City on New Years Day by a 3-0 margin at St. Andrew’s. Robin Van Persie (pictured) scored in the first half while Samir Nasri double the advantage in the second. A Roger Johnson own-goal sealed Brum’s fate and the Gunners cruised, retaining their third place position and maintaining their three-point advantage over fourth place Spurs. Arsenal are just two points behind Manchester United and Manchester City for the top spot in the league. With West Ham’s win today, Brum drop back into the relegation zone, falling to eighteenth place.
