Liverpool’s stunning loss and both Arsenal and Manchester United’s draws left a strange shift in balance across the Premier League during mid-week games. Now every club is back at it for a third game in seven or eight days. United are still top of the table, and with two games in hand against second place City, a position they should be able to hold with a game against West Brom on Saturday. City host Blackpool in a very winnable game at Eastlands. Liverpool host Bolton Wanderers, the latter of whom will be out to pick up points after just missing out against Chelsea mid-week. The Blues host sorry Villa on Sunday, a good chance to get back in the running toward the league title. At the bottom, the West Ham v. Wolves match is truly a massive tie with relegation a strong possibility for the loser. Expect a draw then.

  2. Saturday:
Manchester United @ West Bromwich Albion – United – safe pick cuz i’m guaranteed at least one point since they never lose.
Bolton Wanderers @ Liverpool – Bolton – last match for Hodgson?
Blackpool @ Manchester City – City – I really want to pick the boys in Tangerine but must be realistic. Still a spot in Europe nxt year would be a huge accomplishment for Blackpool.
Blackburn Rovers @ Sunderland – Sunderland – tough home ground.
Fulham @ Tottenham Hotspur – Spurs – Fulham very disappointing compared to past season performances.
Wolverhampton Wanderers @ West Ham United – Wolves – hoping they crawl out of the relegation zone.
Everton @ Stoke City – Everton – Everton are stuck in the middle of the pack. ho hum.
Arsenal @ Birmingham City – Arsenal – not much confidence in this pick but feel better that it is on the road. I’m sure we’re looking at a late draw from a free kick.

    Sunday:
Aston Villa @ Chelsea – Chelsea – certainly this will turn around, right?
Newcastle United @ Wigan Athletic – Wigan – Newcastle has been struggling with one win in their last eight. Wigan has been leaps and bounds better with two wins in their last eight.

  3. Manchester United @ West Bromwich Albion – United
Bolton Wanderers @ Liverpool – Liverpool
Blackpool @ Manchester City – City
Blackburn Rovers @ Sunderland – Sunderland
Fulham @ Tottenham Hotspur – Spurs
Wolverhampton Wanderers @ West Ham United – Wolves
Everton @ Stoke City – Everton
Arsenal @ Birmingham City – Arsenal

    Sunday:
Aston Villa @ Chelsea – Chelski
Newcastle United @ Wigan Athletic – Newcastle
