The League Cup quarterfinals take place mid-week as seven Premier League sides and one truly poor Championship qualifier take to the pitch in the hopes of reaching the semi-finals. Arsenal will be expected to easily defeat Wigan, even if Arsène Wenger plays a younger side. Similarly Manchester United will be heavily favored, even away, against West Ham. The Second City derby gets another run on Wednesday as Birmingham City host Aston Villa. And West Bromwich Albion, another Midlands side, go east to Ipswich as Roy Keane’s Tractor Boys struggle in the bottom tier of the second division.

Wigan @ Arsenal
Manchester United @ West Ham United

Aston Villa @ Birmingham City
West Bromwich Albion @ Ipswich Town
