Despite the complete omission of the tournament in this space, the FA Cup has indeed been rolling through qualifying rounds and now has reached the point where Premier League sides will drop in for the Third Round. Today’s draw provided several very appetizing match-ups, including Manchester United v. Liverpool. Elsewhere, FC United of Manchester could host Portsmouth, if they can hold off Brighton in their replay, and Championship leaders QPR will travel to Premier League struggles Blackburn. Arsenal will host Leeds United in an intriguing game and Cardiff City, second best in the Championship, will face Stoke City at the always imposing Britannia Stadium. These matches will take place the weekend of January 8/9, 2011.
