After a month off from cup matches, the Carling Cup returns in England with eight matches over two days this week. Both Brentford and Northampton Town, the darlings of the Third Round, are playing away with a chance to reach the quarter-final round, the former at Ipswich Town and the latter at the Premier League’s Birmingham City. Ten Premier League sides remain in the competition, six of whom play at home. Of the other four, Arsenal, Stoke City and Wolves each play another Premier League side while West Brom get a trip to Sven-Göran Eriksson’s Leicester City.

Brentford @ Birmingham City
Swansea City @ Wigan Athletic
Wolverhampton Wanderers @ Manchester United

Wednesday:
Burnley @ Aston Villa
Stoke City @ West Ham United
Arsenal @ Newcastle United
