Mid-week European matches have revealed some interesting characteristics of some of the top English sides. Now they return home for the Premier League’s ninth round. The biggest game of the weekend is clearly Arsenal’s visit to Manchester City on Sunday with second place on the line. Top of the table Chelsea will host Wolves and Manchester United travels to the always tricky Britannia Stadium against Stoke. Nineteenth place Liverpool get Blackburn at home in a game that could cost Roy Hodgson his job, if lost. Elsewhere, West Brom have a good chance of staying in European contention in hosting Fulham while Bolton can do the same in an away game in Wigan.
