Two first half goals were enough for Blackpool to emerge from Anfield Road with three points in a 2-1 victory over Liverpool. Charlie Adam and Luke Varney (pictured) put the visitors ahead 2-0 in the first half and held on for a massive victory. Sotirios Kyrgiakos got the only Liverpool goal, a header on 53 minutes that briefly gave the home support reason to believe their side might come back for a result. Instead, the Reds could not come back and have now highlighted their pitiful start to this season by losing to last season’s sixth place club in the Championship and are solidly entrenched in the relegation zone. The Seasiders use their three points to shoot up the table to ninth place.
