An Adam Johnson goal on 37 minutes equalized for Manchester City after giving up an early Vincenzo Iaquinta goal, leaving a 1-1 draw with Juventus at Eastlands. The two biggest clubs in Group A, at least in terms of name recognition, will both rue their failure to pick up the full points in this one, though City do remain in second place, tied on points with Lech Poznań. Juve will have to settle for third place at the moment, though their next two are against bottom-dwelling Red Bull Salzburg.

Group A:
Lech Poznań 2 – Red Bull Salzburg 0

Group B:
Atlético Madrid 1 – Bayer Leverkusen 1
Rosenborg 2 – Aris Tehssaloniki 1

Group C:
Sporting 5 – Levski Sofia 0
Gent 1 – Lille 1

Group D:
PAOK 1 – Dinamo Zagreb 0
Villarreal 2 – Club Brugge 1

Group E:

Sheriff 2 – Dynamo Kyiv 0

Group F:
