West Ham United finally earned their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw away to Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium. Scott Parker and Kenwyne Jones (both pictured) scored the goals in a game that featured five yellow cards and a whole host of fouls. Despite the addition of big name players and the fourth-highest summer expenditure total, Stoke have just four points through five games. Not beating what has been the worst club in the league, as far as record goes, amounts to another failure for the Potters. For the Hammers, any point is a good point and Avram Grant will surely use this game as a spring board back into the early battle for retention.
