slovakiaRussia were defeated at home by Slovakia on Match Day Two of Euro 2012 qualifying. 20-year old Miroslav Stoch (pictured) scored the match-winner in the first half as the World Cup side dealt Russia the blow. With six points from their first two matches, Slovakia are well on their way toward qualifying for another major tournament. Russia will still be expected to compete with Ireland for a qualifying position from Group B, but a loss of three points at home, even against a tough side like Slovakia, will make that journey much more difficult.
