Peter Odemwingie scored as a West Bromich Albion debutant giving the home side a 1-0 win over Sunderland at the Hawthorns. The Baggies brought out their new home kits for the first time. Sunderland wore their standard kits for a strange clash of vertically striped sides.
Johan Elmander and Bolton Wanderers beat up on West Ham United 3-1 at the Boleyn Ground. The Hammers debuted their new Macron-made home kits, forcing the Trotters to slightly alter their standard kits. Bolton wore navy socks instead of their usual whites to contrast with West Ham’s choice.
A late equalizer saw Wolverhampton Wanderers draw Everton 1-1 at Goodison Park. The Toffees got to wear their simple new home kits for the first time this season. Wolves came out in their regular kits as there were standard contrasts already in place.
Saturday’s late game had Chelsea go for six goals for their second consecutive game to open the season winning 6-0 over Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium. The Latics were in their weird new kits which meant Chelsea had to debut their black and orange change outfits.
