The second weekend of the Premier League should clarify the performances of round one. Are Chelsea as dominant as they appeared against West Brom. Are Newcastle as bad off as they seemed at Manchester United? Are Arsenal and Liverpool both strong sides or was their draw a result of two average clubs banging into one another? The Gunners get Blackpool at home, Chelsea go to Wigan, Toon host Aston Villa, Manchester United go down to London to play Fulham and Liverpool travel to Eastlands to see Manchester City. By the end of the weekend the picture of which clubs can be expected to compete should be at least slightly clearer.

  1. 8pts? I thought I faired much better. I’ve got to stop picking draws I think.

Blackpool @ Arsenal – Arsenal (by the score of 5-0)
    Wolverhampton @ Everton – Everton
Bolton @ West Ham – West Ham
Sunderland @ West Brom – Sunderland
Blackburn @ Birmingham City – BCity
Tottenham @ Stoke City – Spurs
    Chelsea @ Wigan – Chelski

    Sunday:
Aston Villa @ Newcastle – Newcastle (bc they actually have a manager)
Manchester United @ Fulham – United

    Monday:
Liverpool @ Manchester City – draw (that’s the best I can hope for)

  2. Saturday:
    Blackpool @ Arsenal – gunners
    Wolverhampton @ Everton – everton
Bolton @ West Ham – draw
Sunderland @ West Brom – west brom
Blackburn @ Birmingham City – rovers
Tottenham @ Stoke City – spurs
    Chelsea @ Wigan – chelski

    Sunday:
Aston Villa @ Newcastle – draw
Manchester United @ Fulham – red devils

    Monday:
Liverpool @ Manchester City – citeh

  3. Saturday:
Blackpool @ Arsenal – Arsenal – Gunners always play like garbage against one of the promoted sides but not in the home opener this week.
Wolverhampton @ Everton – Everton – Must win for Toffees, they can’t start 0-2.
Bolton @ West Ham – Bolton
Sunderland @ West Brom – Sunderland
Blackburn @ Birmingham City – Rovers. Brum stole a point last week and I think they are really going to miss Hart this season.
Tottenham @ Stoke City – Spurs – Spurs have a lot of injuries but looked really good against City last week. They should have enough to get the win.
    Chelsea @ Wigan – Chelsea
    Sunday:
Aston Villa @ Newcastle – Draw Ugh. Tough call with Toon’s home opener after promotion and Villa still w/o a manager.
Manchester United @ Fulham – United
    Monday:
Liverpool @ Manchester City – City
