Chelsea have sold Portuguese international Ricardo Carvalho to Real Madrid for €8m. The 32-year old center back signed a two-year contract with the Spanish giants after six seasons at Stamford Bridge. Carvalho won the Champions League at Porto in 2003/04 and immediately left along with José Mourinho for the big money of the Blues. Now he will reunite with Mourinho at Madrid for one last chance at Champions League glory. It was widely expected that Carvalho would be out at Chelsea in this summer where Carlo Ancelotti chose not to bring back Michael Ballack and Joe Cole as well. Carvalho’s exit also means that Chelsea have both the space and extra money with which to chase the likes of David Luiz or Mesut Özil.
