The eighteenth manager in the steep history of Liverpool Football Club is Roy Hodgson. The reigning Premier League Manager of the Year was lured away from Fulham, who he led to the final of the Europa League, by the prospect of managing one of the biggest, most famous clubs in the world. The Reds will not be the first big job for Hodgson as a two-time manager at Internazionale as well as the national team coach for Switzerland, UAE and Finland over the past twenty-odd years. The job opening at Anfield Road came after Liverpool asked Rafael Benítez to leave just before the World Cup started. Hodgson brings a pragmatic approach to Liverpool and a solid tradition of winning in many different parts of the world. He is one of the few English managers to have found success outside of England and Liverpool will hope that his experience will guide the Reds back into the top four in England in to success in Europe once again.
