33-year old Michael Ballack will return to Bayer Leverkusen after signing a two-year deal. The German midfielder last played at Leverkusen in 2002 when he led Neverkusen to the Champions League final before losing to Raú, Zidane and Real Madrid. At that time Ballack was a fresh-faced 25-year old with massive potential. In the interim he moved to Bayern Munich and ultimately Chelsea while acquiring the captain’s armband for Germany. Ballack is still a fine player and should make a big impact at Leverkusen.
