David Villa (pictured) scored twice and missed a penalty that would’ve given him a hat-trick as Spain easily dispatched of Honduras in Group H, 2-0 at Ellis Park in Johannesburg. The new Barcelona striker recorded the first two Spanish goals of the tournament while the defense recorded a clean sheet against overmatched Honduras. Spain are now tied on points with Switzerland behind top of the group Chile. Doubters of Spain should be quieted now after such a strong performance, even if it was against the weakest side in the group. A win over Chile in the final group stage game would send the European champions through to the knockout rounds, regardless of the Switzerland-Honduras score.
