Asamoah Gyan (pictured) converted a late penalty to send Ghana to a 1-0 victory over ten-man Serbia at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria. Substitute Aleksandar Luković picked up two yellow cards and was sent off in the second half. Gyan got his penalty when Zdravko Kuzmanović blatantly handled the ball in the box just six minutes from full-time. The penalty was well taken and Ghana rightfully celebrated with gusto and flair. The three points take Ghana atop what should be a very tough Group D with Germany and Australia yet to play.
