West Ham United have found their new manager in Avram Grant, signing the Israeli to a four-year contract. Grant of course famously took Chelsea to the Champions League final in 2008 at caretaker manager and more recently led Portsmouth to the FA Cup final just last month. With the sacking of Gianfranco Zola at season’s end, West Ham have been in the market for a new manager. With severe financial problems seemingly behind them, the Hammers will hope Grant can lead them to a much better finish than this season’s nail-bitting seventeenth place result. Citing experience and stability, the latter quality being completely absent from the 2009/10 season, co-owner David Gold has chosen Grant as a manager to turn the club around.
