Lost in the din of Champions League final and Championship play-off finals was the signing of Marouane Chamakh (pictured) to Arsenal. The Moroccan international has long been linked with the Gunners and African specialist Arsène Wenger but were consistently rebuffed by his French side Bordeaux. In the end, the 26-year old was able to move to the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer as his contract ended with Les Girondins. Of course Bordeaux can be happy with his production in reaching the quarterfinals of the Champions League this season. Chamakh is the first piece of the puzzle for third place Arsenal as they begin to retool and potentially reinvent themselves, assuming Cesc Fàbregas does in fact rejoin Barcelona this summer.
