When tomorrow’s Championship play-off final is complete, a fantastic story will be told of the unlikelihood of the winning side reaching the Premier League. That story will be told, regardless of the winner. Blackpool and Cardiff City will battle at Wembley for the right to join England’s top-flight and accept the riches afforded to those lucky twenty clubs. The Seasiders have not been in the top-flight since 1971 and have endured dreadful spells over the past forty years. The Bluebirds are presumably the favorites in this match, but being a Welsh side, a group totally excluded from the first eighteen years of the Premier League, their success would be a major accomplishment.

  1. From an kit aesthetic standpoint, I’m hoping Blackpool wins. I’d love to see the Premier League keep a 2nd oragne squad.
