When Manchester City decided to bring Joe Hart back from loan, Birmingham City were in need of a strong goal keeper. Today Brum added Ben Foster from Manchester City a cost believed to reach £6m. The 27-year old Foster was tabbed as the next goal keeper at United and even started games at the beginning of the 2009/10 season. But poor play and the return of Edwin Van der Saar spelled the end for Foster at Old Trafford. Now he will mind the net at St. Andrews where Hart set the bar very high while on loan from Man City.

  1. I think he can still be productive somewhere, just not at the top – best of luck to him…still wondering who will replace van der sar in the somewhat near future

  2. Almunia and/or Fabianski would make GREAT replacements for van der Sar. I’m surprised Fleet Street isn’t going nuts with rumors on teams trying to sign these two out from under Arsenal.

  3. I know it’s been mentioned they were interested in David de Gea from Atletico- but I’m sure his price tag has gone up with a Europa League title
