Didier Drogba scored the game’s only goal as Chelsea defended the FA Cup with a 1-0 victory over Portsmouth at Wembley to complete the double. Kevin-Prince Boatang and Frank Lampard each missed penalties in the final game of the season to include England’s top flight clubs. Pompey played far better than many would have expected, giving the Blues a real game and coming very close to scoring on several chances, particularly in the late going after substitute Nadir Belhadj came on for Portsmouth. But in the end it was Chelsea who were the better side and earned the double. The Blues were worthy champions of both the league and the FA Cup.
