David Marshall was the hero for Cardiff City as the Bluebirds slipped past Leicester City 3-3 (4-3 penalties) at the Cardiff City Stadium to earn a spot in the Championship play-off final at Wembley against Blackpool. The Foxes won today’s game 3-2 behind goals from Matty Fryatt and Andy King and an own-goal by Cardiff skipper Mark Hudson. But Cardiff got goals from Michael Chopra and Peter Wittingham to earn the 3-3 aggregate draw and force first over-time and eventually penalties. Each side converted their first three penalties but Marshall saved the final two Leicester attempts to send the home side within 90 minutes of becoming the first Welsh side to reach the Premier League.
