With a 2-1 victory today at Ewood Park, Blackburn Rovers gave themselves a real chance to finish in the top ten and kept open the possibility that Arsenal could finish the season below third place. Robin van Persie opened the scoring on 13 minutes but Rovers came back behind David Dunn’s 43rd minute equalizer and Chris Samba’s (pictured) 68th minute winner. The three points move Blackburn back to tenth place while Arsenal remain in third, just five points ahead of hated rivals Tottenham. If Spurs win their last two games (admittedly a tough task) and the Gunners lose again on the weekend, Arsenal could again finish fourth, but in the worst way imaginable. That is an unlikely scenario, but their failure to pick up even a single point today leaves the chance out there for Spurs.
