Lisandro López (pictured) scored twice to lead Olympique Lyonnais to a 3-1 home victory over Les Girondins de Bordeaux at the Stade Gerland. Michel Bastos broke a 1-1 tie in the 32nd minute after Marouane Chamakh had leveled López’s first goal. That lead held and López added his second and Lyon’s third to blow open a fantastic first leg of the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Bordeaux did pick up the all-important away goal against their French rivals but it will be a difficult task to overcome a two-goal deficit, even in front of the rowdy fans at the Stade Chaban-Delmas next week. OL won’t be thrilled with giving up said away goal but their response and ultimate victory should go a long way to send them to the semi-finals.
