David Dunn (pictured) converted a questionable penalty in the 20th minute to send Blackburn Rovers to a 1-0 away win over hated rivals Burnley at the once impenetrable Turf Moor. The victory was the second against their old rivals this season to sweep the famed Cotton Mill derby and send the Clarets to the brink. Rovers take the three points and leapfrog both Stoke and Fulham to reach tenth place. Burnley remain in nineteenth place after Hull City’s win yesterday. The gap for escape is now four points as the Clarets have a decided goal differential disadvantaged compared with both Hull and West Ham.
