Three first half goals were enough to see Juventus past Fulham in their first leg match of the Round of 16 in the Europa League, 3-1 at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin. Nicola Legrottaglie, Jonathan Zebina and David Trezeguet (pictured) put goals in the net to put the Cottagers at a major disadvantage when heading back to London next week. But Dickson Etuhu’s 25th minute goal did give Fulham a ray of hope in returning to Craven Cottage. With an away goal, Fulham have the opportunity to get back into the tie with as little as a 2-0 victory. That won’t be easy, but Fulham’s best run in Europe isn’t necessarily over yet.

Here are the other scores from a lively first day in the Europa League:

Benfica 1 – Olympique de Marseille 1
Panathinaikos 1 – Standard 3
Valencia 1 – Werder Bremen 1
