Portsmouth continue their surprising run of form since falling into administration by defeating Birmingham City 2-0 at Fratton Park in the Quarterfinals of the FA Cup. Back-to-back goals from Frédéric Piquionne (pictured) in the 67th and 70th minutes sent the Pompey fans into delirium and pushed Portsmouth back into the semi-finals of the FA Cup just two years after famously winning the fabled tournament. Each victory for Portsmouth in this tournament brings financial rewards that do nothing but help the nearly hopeless situation at the club. Damn near insolvent, advancing one more round will certainly keep the club from falling victim to a winding up order and gives the south coast supporters at least a glimmer of hope in this otherwise terrible season.
