Aston Villa poured in five goals against woeful Burnley to power to a 5-2 victory at Villa Park. Stewart Downing’s (pictured) brace came in just two minutes as part of a four goal barrage by the home side within twelve second half minutes. Steven Fletcher had given the visitors an early lead that was equalized by Ashley Young on the half-hour. Between Downing, Emile Heskey and Gabby Agbonlahor, Villa blasted ahead to stay by the 68th minute. Martin Paterson’s extra-time goal was little consolation for the visitors. The three points send Villa back up to fourth place as Liverpool and Manchester City battle at Eastlands. The Clarets remain stuck in nineteenth place, a position well deserved at this point in the season.
