Both Rangers and Celtic have signed on with Tennent’s in a new deal that will see the Old Firm clubs wear the famed Scottish lager brand on their shirts for the next three years. Tennent’s already sponsors the Scottish national team and has been associated with the Scottish Cup since the early 1990s. Rangers have previously used both Carling beer and McEwan’s Lager as sponsors with the Hoops obviously wearing Carling since 2003. Both clubs are in the practice of sharing a sponsor, having done so with Carling (2003-2010), ntl (1999-2003) and CR Smith (1984-87). The new sponsorship will officially begin this summer with new kits rolling out for both clubs. As a personal favorite of this space, Tennent’s should be a great addition to the Old Firm. It gets the English beer out of Scottish football, hopefully for good.
